Star A / Star B Classes
Art (Mondays,
Wednesdays) – Mrs. Warner
The Visual Arts program is designed to provide a general understanding
of art and to prepare students who may want to pursue studies in
the humanities and fine arts. The program combines academic art studies
with studio classes that acquaint students with the language of visual
form while helping them develop and appreciate artistic skills.
Students are introduced to the elements and principles of design
by working with various two and three dimensional art mediums.
They learn about a variety of media and strategies used by artists
and apply their knowledge in studio workshops. The investigation
of important works in art history from ancient to modern times
contributes to their understanding of culture and visual language.
Elective classes allow students to develop artistic and critical
thinking skills while enjoying creative expression.
